Causes of hard palms
The skin acts as a barrier for the body against foreign infection. It also regulate the amount of water lost from the body.

The Palms is still part of the skin but What makes the palms different from other part of the skin?
The palm and sole part of the feet is covered by a thick skin which means your palms and feet are composed of five layers (4mm inches) of epidermal cover unlike other skin areas that is made up of four layers.
The Surface layer of its epidermis (stratum corneum) is made of sheath of death cells that are constantly replaced by new ones, whose rate of turnover depends on mechanical effects on the skin and the individual’s nutritional level.
